Renew Scout (“the app”) is a subscription reminder and tracking app designed to help users keep track of recurring subscriptions and renewal dates. Your privacy is important, and this policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and what it does not collect.
1. Information We Collect
Renew Scout collects only the minimum data required for the app to function.
a) User-entered data
All subscription information is entered manually by you, including:
- Subscription name
- Amount
- Billing cycle
- Renewal date
- Optional notes
This data is stored locally on your device using an on-device database.
b) App usage data
The app may store simple local preferences, such as:
- Whether you have unlocked Pro
- Whether you have temporarily unlocked insights via rewarded ads
- App usage counters used to trigger in-app review prompts
This data is stored locally on your device and is not shared externally.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Renew Scout does not:
- Access your bank accounts
- Read SMS messages
- Read emails
- Access contacts
- Track your browsing activity
- Collect precise location data
- Collect personally identifiable information (PII)
There is no account system, and no login is required to use the app.
3. Notifications
The app uses notifications only to remind you about upcoming subscription renewals.
- Notification permission is requested explicitly
- Notifications can be disabled at any time via system settings
- No notifications are sent without your consent
4. Advertising (AdMob)
Renew Scout uses Google AdMob to show optional rewarded ads.
- Ads are used only to temporarily unlock certain insights
- Watching ads is completely optional
- Ads are not shown to Pro users
AdMob may collect limited information such as:
- Advertising identifiers
- Device information
- Approximate location (as per Google’s ad policies)
This data is collected and processed by Google, not by Renew Scout.

5. In-App Purchases
Renew Scout offers a one-time Pro purchase processed securely through Google Play Billing.
- Payment information is handled entirely by Google
- Renew Scout does not receive or store your payment details
6. Data Storage & Security
- All subscription data is stored locally on your device
- No subscription data is uploaded to external servers
- No cloud sync is currently used
If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is removed from your device.
7. Third-Party Services Used
Renew Scout uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob – for optional rewarded ads
- Google Play Billing – for in-app purchases
- Google Play In-App Review API – for optional review prompts
These services may collect data according to their own privacy policies.
8. Children’s Privacy
Renew Scout is not intended for children under the age of 13.
The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
